The sun gods shone down on us for the third edition of ThunderTrack. An event that we’ve seen evolve from an event for first time track riders to one that now attracts the cream of the fixed racing scene as well as providing a stepping stone for those interested in track racing.
After a busy sign-on (completely filling the track limit for Men’s A) and warm up the riders were briefed by the commissaire and we got ready to start the races. The order of the day was Scratch, Keirin heats, Devil, Keirin finals, Points and ending with the ThunderCrawl.
Men’s B was dominated by our NLTCBMBC trio of Kris, Jonathan and John Karlo. Women’s B was a fight between Hanna Wheatley of VCL, Caz of NLTCBMBC and three Velociposse girls. Men’s A saw Alec Briggs win everything but the Keirin final and it was a clean sweep for Jo Smith (newly crowned National Masters Champion) in the Women’s A field.
